I am a disciple of Jesus Christ....my heart is fixed on Him; steadfastly dependent upon His Love. (Psalm 57:7-11) My desire is to grow in knowledge of Him, and to be found in Him. (Philippians 3:7-11) I am blessed in many ways, and have received "much" (Luke 12:48b) over my short lifetime - godly parents, a Christian upraising, a private education, freedom in speech and religion, and opportunities in life-changing experiences. I live in a large family and have had five years experience working in our family owned restaurant in a small-town, which has offered me many interesting and humorous insights on human behavior.
My relationship with Jesus Christ began on a personal level when I was six years old and accepted Him as my Savior, and is the central most important aspect of my life. Growing in Christ (Ephesians 2:4-10; Philippians 1:6-11) and walking upon this road of Christian living isn't always easy - as many discover. But I am learning to rejoice with ALL JOY everyday, which is my strength. (Nehemiah 8:10) I long to learn the extraordinary Faith and unconditional Love that never asks questions, never doubts and always denies Self. I am learning to guard my heart from the affections of the world, and I want my heart and life to be protected, as a wall and gate, by my Beloved's Jealous Love. (Exodus 34:14; Jeremiah 31:3.) I want my life to be a pleasant garden of good works and service to Him. (Song of Solomon 4:15-17; Galatians 5:22-24)
God has given me a heart for missions, and has specifically allowed me to feel His heart for the people of Haiti. I am humbled and delighted to serve God on the mission field. The lives and writings of many great heroes of faith have influenced and inspired me, including Amy Carmichael, Darlene Deibler Rose, C.S. Lewis, A.W. Tozer...among many others. My life verses are Isaiah 42:6-7 and Colossians 1:9-14.
Over years of waiting and seeking God, and taking opportunities on mission trips, I am embarking on a new adventure this year - school! I look forward moving ahead with my education, as well as sharing and documenting my experiences of drinking deeply from the "Pierian springs" of a modern college.
My long-term goal is to become a counselor, and use the knowledge I acquire to help hurting girls and women, ravished by sin or sin's consequences in their lives, and deliver them with the TRUTH. (John 1:1-5; John 8:31-32; Romans 5:6-9)
My dreams include traveling Europe and South America, obtaining a CCW license, obtaining a pilot's license, writing books, learning French, acting on stage and recording an album; while of course fulfilling my biggest dream - becoming a wife and mommy.
My actual interests cover a large spectrum - family, friends, music, poetry, knowledge, reading, politics, writing, fashion, cooking, film-noir, traveling, irony, football, thunderstorms, the ocean, J.R.R. Tolkien, Coca-Cola, exploring the infinite depths of God's Love, and anything that is the color green.
